Established by the Carbon Literacy Project, this UN-recognised Carbon Literacy® course is a two-half day training course that provides an accelerated lesson in sustainability. It is designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), equipping business leaders and employees with the tools to understand and address their carbon impact. In a rapidly changing business landscape, sustainability is no longer just an option—it’s a necessity. This course helps SMEs integrate climate action into their operations, therefore unlocking efficiencies and finding solutions to increased profitability and growth. Session Overview
The course covers key topics such as the causes and consequences of climate change, the role of greenhouse gases, and the importance of achieving net-zero emissions. Participants will learn to measure and reduce their personal and workplace carbon footprints, with practical strategies for energy efficiency, sustainable practices, and greener choices. In this accessible and interactive course split over 2 half-days, participants will be involved in critical thinking and group discussion on both personal and real-world challenges, inspiring collaboration on solutions that drive lasting change.
The course can either by run as a bespoke course for one business (online or in-person) or as a scheduled online course with max of 8 participants.
Who’s the Facilitator?
Alexina is a Sustainability Adviser, working with SMEs on ESG and sustainability strategies, B Corp certification, carbon literacy and net zero action plans. She supports businesses to be the best that they can be; successful, resilient and a force for good; for people, their communities and the planet. Alexina founded ActNow Consulting, a Pending B Corp, in April 2023 and is an official Carbon Literacy Project Facilitator. Alexina is also a Steerco Member of the Sustainable Business Alliance which exists to help organisations integrate sustainability strategy into day-to-day business.
Within Northamptonshire, Alexina is the coordinator of the B Local group, Host of the Northampton People, Planet, Pint group and Deputy Chair of Climate Action – West Northamptonshire.
