Our 'Good Start' short course is a structured half-day workshop aimed at businesses seeking to create and implement their own sustainability strategy. During the workshop, you will identify your sustainability priorities, create a simple strategy and build practical action plans for your business. By the end of the session you will have conducted a materiality assessment and created a simple strategy with action plans for your top three prioritised sustainability topics.

About our facilitators

Simon Derrick. Simon is the Founder of the Sustainable Business Alliance. Simon has over 15 years experience working on sustainability projects in the food industry. Most recently as Global Head of Sustainability for the UK's leading fresh-cut fruit manufacturer, Simon has worked with a a wide range of organisations including Waitrose & Partners, Ahold Delhaize, UNCTAD and FCDO and picked up awards including the Queen's Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.

Alexina Cassidy. Alexina is a Sustainable Business Adviser. She works with SMEs on carbon literacy and net zero plans, B Corp certification and ESG and sustainability strategies. She offers training and workshops and aims to support businesses to be the best that they can be; successful, resilient and a force for good; for people, their communities and the planet. Alexina founded ActNow Consulting, a Pending B Corp, in April 2023. She is an Official Facilitator for Small99 CRAB (Carbon Reduction Action Box) and the Carbon Literacy Project. She has a CFA qualification in ESG Investing and a background in Investment Banking and Project Management.
