The Sustainable Business Alliance (SBA) is proud to have played a central role in the successful delivery of the TANZ (Towards a Net Zero) West Northants project, which officially concluded with a final workshop held at Sedgebrook Hall earlier this month. Led by Dr Ebenezer Laryea of the University of Northampton, the project has supported over 150 local businesses and charities to begin or accelerate their Net Zero journey.
As part of the project, SBA developed a tailored Carbon Calculator designed specifically for West Northamptonshire enterprises. This easy-to-use tool allows businesses and charities to estimate their emissions across key operational areas — offering a practical, accessible way to start taking climate action.
To complement this, SBA also designed and delivered a third-party verification process, providing participating organisations with independent feedback on their carbon data and helping to build confidence in the figures being reported. This combination of practical tools and trusted oversight helped to strengthen the impact of the project and support local organisations in making meaningful, measurable progress.

The final event brought together experts and participants from across the region, including a keynote presentation from SBA on the importance of accessible emissions data and the future of SME support in the Net Zero transition.
With the TANZ project now concluded, SBA remains committed to supporting organisations across the UK and beyond with tools, training and tailored support for Net Zero planning, ESG reporting, and sustainability strategy development.
